1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all video editing services provided by Ariyan Khan ("Editor", "I", "me") to clients ("Client", "you"). By contacting me, submitting a project brief, or making a payment, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

These Terms apply to all services including YouTube video editing, documentary editing, short-form content editing (TikTok, Reels, Shorts), and map animation/geopolitical visuals.

2. Services Provided

I offer the following professional video editing services:

• YouTube Talking Head Editing: High-retention pacing, B-roll integration, captions, color grading, and sound design.
• Documentary Video Editing: Long-form cinematic editing, narrative structuring, interview assembly, and broadcast-ready export.
• Short Form Editing: Punchy, scroll-stopping edits optimized for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
• Map Animation & Geopolitical Visuals: Custom animated maps including country highlights, route animations, and geopolitical storytelling visuals.

The specific scope of work for each project will be agreed upon in writing before work commences.

3. Project Briefs & Communication

To begin a project, the Client must provide a clear and complete project brief including:

• Raw footage, audio, and any reference materials required for the edit.
• Desired style, tone, pacing, and any specific editing notes.
• Target platform and export requirements (resolution, aspect ratio, format).
• Agreed deadline and number of revision rounds included.

Delays caused by incomplete briefs, late delivery of assets, or unclear instructions are the Client's responsibility and may affect the agreed delivery date.

4. Pricing & Payment

Project pricing is quoted individually based on scope, length, complexity, and turnaround time. All prices are agreed upon in writing before work begins.

• A deposit of 50% of the agreed project fee may be required before work commences on larger projects.
• The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the final file, unless otherwise agreed.
• Rush delivery (under 48 hours) may incur an additional fee.
• Payments are accepted via the methods specified at the time of agreement.

5. Revisions

Each project includes a defined number of revision rounds as agreed in the project brief. Revisions must be based on the original brief — substantial changes to direction, style, or scope after work has begun may incur additional charges.

• Revision requests must be submitted as a clear, consolidated list — not spread across multiple messages.
• Revisions beyond the agreed number will be quoted separately.
• Approval of the final edit constitutes acceptance and closes the revision process.

6. Delivery & Timelines

Typical delivery time is within 48 hours for standard projects, subject to project complexity. Exact timelines will be confirmed during onboarding.

• Delivery timelines begin once all required assets have been received from the Client.
• I will communicate any delays as early as possible.
• Files are delivered in the format agreed upon (MP4, MOV, etc.) via the specified transfer method (Google Drive, WeTransfer, etc.).
• Delivered files are considered accepted if no revision request is raised within 3 business days of delivery.

7. Intellectual Property & Ownership

Upon receipt of full payment, the Client receives full commercial usage rights to the final edited video for the agreed platform and purpose.

• The Editor retains the right to display the completed work in a portfolio, showreel, or social media for promotional purposes, unless the Client explicitly requests confidentiality in writing.
• Raw editable project files (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve projects, etc.) are not included in the standard deliverable unless specifically agreed and priced.
• The Client is responsible for ensuring they have the rights to all raw footage, music, and third-party assets provided to the Editor.

8. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

• Provide all necessary assets, footage, and information in a timely manner.
• Ensure all provided materials are legally owned or licensed for use.
• Communicate feedback clearly and constructively within the agreed revision framework.
• Make payments within the agreed timeframe.

9. Cancellation & Refunds

If a project is cancelled by the Client after work has commenced:

• Any deposit paid is non-refundable if significant work has already been completed.
• A partial refund may be considered at the Editor's discretion based on the stage of completion.
• If the Editor cancels the project due to unforeseen circumstances, all payments received will be refunded in full.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Editor's liability in any matter relating to services provided is limited to the total amount paid for that specific project. The Editor is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the delivered work.
• Copyright claims arising from third-party assets provided by the Client.
• Platform-specific demonetization, removals, or penalties related to the published content.
• Loss of revenue or business opportunity resulting from delayed delivery.

11. Confidentiality

I treat all Client materials, briefs, and project information as confidential. I will not share, distribute, or disclose your raw footage or unreleased content to any third party without your explicit written consent.

If a Client requires a formal Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), this can be arranged upon request before project commencement.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction in which services are agreed upon. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be settled through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings are initiated.

13. Changes to These Terms

I reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of my services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
